POV tree imageWelcome to the Program on Values in Society

The Program on Values in Society (PonVinS) is dedicated to research, teaching, and dialogue on ethical issues that arise across the disciplines. The Program is committed to facilitating the multidisciplinary collaboration that is essential to finding practical and insightful responses to today’s myriad moral problems. The members of the Core Faculty are currently working on a variety of issues, ranging from global climate change to disability rights to restoration ecology.

New Members for the Program on Values in Society

We are pleased to announce the addition of three new affiliated members to the Program. Alison Wylie comes to us from the University of Washington Department of Philosophy, where she has worked on the role of values in science and in feminist philosophy.

Jeni Barcelos and Jen Marlowe are the co-founders and co-executive directors of Three Degrees Warmer, a climate justice project at the University of Washington School of Law.

Ask the Ethicist

Michael Blake is the resident ethical expert for KUOW (94.9 FM). He appears on the radio program The Conversation where he discusses a variety of moral questions, both quotidien and dramatic. You can listen to the program here.
