Bio

Roseli Fischmann is Professor and Head of the Graduate Studies of Education at Methodist University of São Paulo, Faculty of Humanities and Law, and Professor at University of São Paulo,  Brazil. Doctor in Philosophy and History of Education, USP, 1989. Expert UNESCO for the UNESCO Cities Coalition against Racism, Discrimination and Xenophobia.  Former President of the International Jury of the UNESCO Prize for Peace Education, Paris (1999-2002). Member of the Special Working Group to Human Rights Education, Advisory to the UNESCO Executive Board, Paris (1998-2000). Former Visiting Scholar, Harvard University.

 Presented her work in different universities and events in the world, for example, among others: as for Latin America, in Mexico, Lima, Montevideo, Buenos Aires; as for Europe, O Porto, Paris, The Hague, Budapest; as for Asia, Goa, Osaka; as for USA, Washington D.C., Boston, Cambridge-MA, Ann Arbor,  Albuquerque, Provo.  Publications: several  books, as “Estado Laico”, Memorial da América Latina Editor;  the series “Science, Scientists and Tolerance”, University of Sao Paulo (USP) Editor; article in several periodicals, such as Higher Education Policy, International Association of Universities/UNESCO, Paris, Conflict Studies in Humanities, Osaka University GCOE Programme, among others. Collaboration to Brazilian media, writing to national newspapers as O Estado de São Paulo e Folha de São Paulo, attending interviews of TV and radio broadcasting, as TV Globo News, CBN , TV Brasil, among others.
